MonoNeon - You Had Your Chance... Bad Attitude! (LP Vinyl)

You Had Your Chance... Bad Attitude! finds MonoNeon backed in the studio for the first time by his longtime onstage collaborators—keyboardists Davy Nathan and Charlie Brown, guitarists Xavier Lynn and Peter Knudsen, and drummer Devin Way—recording between Memphis and Iceland's Flóki Studios. The result is a beguiling peek into MonoNeon's impossible-to-classify inner world where Prince-style funk collides with '70s soft rock and synth-tinged R&B. The opener "Bad Attitude" channels the Purple One's influence directly; you can hear Paisley Park in every groove.

As the last bassist to play regularly with Prince, MonoNeon carries that legacy forward while remaining stubbornly himself. He wears a knit green mask onstage, plays his right-handed bass upside-down and left-handed, and harmonizes viral videos with basslines that have made him a YouTube phenomenon. The Grammy win for Nas's King's Disease, the Fender signature bass, the DigiTech Whammy collaboration—none of it has changed his approach: "I'm always going to do what I want to do, because that's how I keep myself alive." Color Red's vinyl release showcases the Memphis-Iceland sessions in full analog glory.

LP Vinyl. Color Red Music via Flóki Studios. Released 2025. Features Davy Nathan, Charlie Brown, Xavier Lynn, Peter Knudsen, Devin Way. Prince influence meets experimental funk.
